Wednesday Wisdom: It Can't Be Said Enough
This phrase is one that is used often, but I think it's used so often because we forget. You may produce something great, but if it doesn't match the expectations you set, then it will be seen as a disappointment.

Wednesday Wisdom: Listen then speak
It's true that no one wants to hear what you have to say if they feel like you aren't listening to them.
And I'm reminded of the old saying that you have two ears and one mouth because you're supposed to listen twice as much as you talk!
I think with everyone always checking their phone, too many times people fail to give a speaker their full attention. And we all know how it feels to be "half" listened to: it feels like the other person isn't listening at all! So try to give your full attention when someone is talking to you. It's something I'm definitely going to improve on.

Wednesday Wisdom: Strength and Weaknesses
I've heard before that we should turn our weaknesses into strengths, but this really made me think about how our strengths can become our weaknesses.

Wednesday Wisdom: Bill Gates
This is such a great quote and such an important truth. Our expectations shape our reality.
Expect to have a terrible day, and you most certainly will. Expect to have a great day, and you will.
If you expect others to perceive you as lacking confidence, they will.
Expect to fail, and it's guaranteed.
It's amazing how much our thoughts shape our reality and our future even. It's the self-fulfilling prophecy. If we believe our presentation won't go well, then we won't deliver it with conviction and the audience will sense that, and the presentation won't be persuasive.
Take control of your thoughts, an you take take control of your reality. If you're positive, you can deal with any challenge that comes along.

Wednesday Wisdom: Leadership
If you aren't rooting for your own team, don't expect them to root for you. You get out of a team what you're willing to put into it, whether you're a team member or a leader. If you want respect as a leader, you have to show respect for your team members.
An employee who feels valued will go the extra mile. They'll do more than the bare minimum. If they can take pride in being part of your team, they will work to make that team a success.
